What began as a walk through Richmond's historic Jackson Ward neighborhood became an independent research project partially funded by VCUarts. This 100-page catalog documents the life of 42 vacant buildings from 1900 – 2014.

storefront for community design
I spent two years as Program Director at Storefront for Community Design in Richmond. As the in-house designer, it was my responsibility to develop a voice and visual language for the organization on a budget. I designed and oversaw production of annual reports, brochures, our website, collateral for a national conference, murals, and façade improvements along Richmond's commercial corridors.

With the theme of "Endless Exploration," my team of fellow Brandcenter students created Virginia's very first consumer-facing brand for the growing craft spirits industry. The Virginia Distillers Association is in the process of implementing the campaign.

A series of walks and maps that attempted to understand the neighborhoods destroyed in the path of interstate 95 in Richmond. This research resulted in a series of tours given through Storefront for Community Design.

Kirschbactal landscapes
With a dropper full of blue dye suspended above a pad of paper mounted to my bike, this series attempted to let a landscape make an impression of itself. The result captures bumps along the way and memories of motion rather than place.

Walking weimar
My friend from Moscow sent me a map of her daily commute. I, then, overlayed that on a map of Weimar, Germany, and attempted to walk the same exact path from my home. The deviations in the diagram represent the barriers to achieving another path from where I currently stood.
